Making up with Books

Almost two years ago now, I wrote a blog post about the a love lost; my love for books. I write today to give hope to those once reading obsessed college students who just can't make themselves pick up a book anymore!
Being almost a year out of college, in the past few months, I have made reading a huge priority of mine. Without the hassle of work and class and homework, my schedule has opened up a tiny bit for reading and I have found ways to enjoy books that are a bit more accessible for me.
Let's talk first about audiobooks. Audiobooks are arguably one of the best things to ever exist for someone like me. Listening to an audiobook in the morning while I get ready for work has become a crucial part of my morning routine. Listening to books has been such a pleasant experience for me but what really got me out of my reading slump in the first place was reading the "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series on the Kindle app. I heard about this very popular series of books on Tik Tok (surprise, surprise) and though I've never really read fantasy, I decided to give it a shot. Not only did I love the series but I grew to really like reading on my phone.
When e-readers and kindles started to get really popular I was so so against them. I wanted real books. I wanted to hold them. I wanted to support libraries and book stores but the reality is...reading is so much easier for me when its digital these days.
I suppose this blog post serves as an homage to the creators of audiobooks and e-readers because I am 32% of the way to my reading goal only 2 months into the year!
